Kanishka Weeramunda Started his first company at the age of 19, He began his professional career in the corporate world as a web designer followed as a IT offer at apparel Manufacturing company, at the age of 24 he started his second venture, a Digital Agency supporting local and international brands. In 2009 he joined Landmark Group, Dubai as Head of IT for Lifestyle and Beautybay Concepts and with time rose to become the CIO of a leading private sector group managing 22 companies at Laugfs Holdings, a diversified business conglomerate in Sri Lanka and ventured into his own business predominantly in Education and Banking sector.
He completed his primary and secondary education at Maris Stella College Negombo and obtained his Bachelors of Information Technology from the University of Colombo, Sri Lanka, his Masters in Business Administration from the University of Manipal in India and Masters in Human Resource Management from Asia E-University, Malaysia. He is also a Member of the British Computer Society and a Chartered IT professional. He is an alumni of MIT Global Startup Labs and also a scholar of Global Connect Program hosted by Singapore-MIT Alliance for Research and Technology. The acquisition of knowledge continues through reading for a PhD in Technology Entrepreneurship.
A former Visiting faculties of University Moratuwa, University of Middlesex UK, Post Graduate Institute of Management in Dubai, UAE and Doha, Qatar, The American University of Emirates, in Dubai, UAE.
Currently designated as Director of Edulink International Campus and the founder and Chief Executive of PayMedia (Pvt) Limited
His recent startup “PayMedia” own the Gold award as the National Best Software Quality awards 2015 for running a company with 3 employers supporting 3 large local banks, 2 Finance Inistituies and 180 telecommunication companies globally.
With over 15 years of experience in the local and international IT sphere, his area of expertise spreads across Education, Energy, Insurance, Manufacturing, Retail, Banking and Finance sectors.
He was awarded the Most Valuable ICT entrepreneur of the year in 2015 for his contribution to the IT industry and the society.
